Love Thy Self as a Single Godly Woman in a sometimes unlovable, unfriendly world can be difficult. I often feel the end of the year is the hardest because couple stuff hits you back to back. Family events for Thanksgiving and Christmas, followed quickly by the New Year’s Eve Parties with the Kiss to kick off a fresh new year with Valentine’s Day hot on its heels. All in an effort to knock you off your equilibrium developed to get you through the year being single.
At thirty-seven, it’s a repetitive merry-go-round of singleness I have been on far too long.
ALWAYS TOO LONG AND HARD.
NOT FUN… Especially as a Christian single woman.
Really, unless you are single, you really don’t get it.
Honestly, sometimes I think being a Christian makes it worse.
I don’t like who I am being wrapped up in whether I am married or not.
I’m more than just a plus one or a minus one.
I’m a Godly woman. I have a voice. I am a warrior woman who fights for women who are lost, who’ve walked away from God and forgotten to whom they belong. Being a woman is hard, married or not. It’s always been hard to be a woman. History has proven that over and over again since Eve picked that fruit and the world has condemned her for it, never once mentioning ADAM WAS STANDING NEXT TO HER THE ENTIRE TIME!
I don’t want my life to be a waste. Nor, do I want what I have been through, the scars I’ve received from my childhood, my father, my illnesses, my hurts, my mistakes, my heartaches, my trauma to keep me from making a difference.
My life is meant to be more because God meant me to be more.
THANK GOD, He means for me to be more than mankind wants me to be.
Whether I marry or remain single until I take my last breath on earth, I have a calling.
This month’s theme is about embracing loving yourself, single or not. You HAVE A CALLING and until you know yourself enough to know that calling – you can’t do what God has called you to do.
Maybe you’ve walked away from God, or you’ve been following your own path because you’re afraid of the calling He has for you because you don’t feel prepared, or educated, or strong enough?
This month is all about finding a way to love thy self and then finding God so you can find your God-given purpose.
I have created a THEME SHEET for February’s Love Thy Self Month. Pin it up where you can see it EVERY DAY and know God loves you VERY MUCH. Not just once in a while or when you’re doing everything right.
I found this quote and I loved it so much I made this photo to put up in my bathroom to remind myself God is not looking for me to be perfect. He’s looking for me to be available. To listen, be around to talk. He wants a conversation. A friend.
