Andrea Cabot: Thank you, Anna Christine. It’s always nice to hear. My sons get on to me about buying this big place for just me, but I have plans which this home will make it possible.

ACB: The catering business you’ve started?

AC: *Chuckling. Yes, I wanted to be able to cook out of my home and eventually have events on-site. This place gives me the opportunity.

ACB: *Looks out the large kitchen windows to the big yard outside. There is an old barn just past a renovated carriage house. It has a lot of land, too, not just the big two-story house.

Encyclopedia of the Grace Series

With three books published, another novel coming out in April and plans for novel five, six, and seven – it can be hard to keep up with ALL OF THE CHARACTERS. Hair color, eye color, birthdays, tall, or short, these details are very important and can’t change from book to book.

I have created a notebook, a 2-inch binder full of information that I keep updated for all of my novels. I call it my Grace Series Encyclopedia and I’d like to show it to you and explain a few tips and tricks of my writing secrets that I’ve learned through trial and error.

Writing 101: Character Questionaire

If you’ve done any research about writing a novel, one of the first pieces of advice is to KNOW your characters. Many blogs, websites, how to books offer a variety of character questions that they feel you should answer about EACH of your characters.

These all vary – some list a few questions and some have over 100!

When I first started writing, I tried to answer ALL of those questions for EACH of my characters… and it was difficult even before I injured my wrist and was unable to type/write for over a year.

SO… when I picked back up my writing and started working on two more novels plus my original- I knew I needed a better system.
