Starting Over

Fresh Start, Redo, Starting Over… It sounds good when it’s your idea. But when it isn’t your idea, well that’s a different story.

Starting over when someone decides they don’t love you anymore… The job you are working at doesn’t work out… Or God tells you to move when you’re perfectly content where you are…

None of these fresh starts sound fun. They don’t fit into anyone’s plans.

But that doesn’t mean they don’t fit into God’s plans.

He knows they serve a purpose. His purpose.

God knew the heartache was coming. The layoff was on its way. The breakup. Even the guy who swerved in front of you, causing you to be late for the important meeting.

Relax & Rest Month 30 Days of Me

Relax“Relax”, he said. “I’ll fix it,” he said!

I was waiting for the tech guy at work to fix my computer, again! They got one problem solved, but then my internet was knocked out, and after that was fixed, my phone system wouldn’t work right…

Needless to say, it’s been a rough week, and I’m typing this on a Monday…

While I was waiting for the tech guy to finish, I was thinking about writing this post. I knew I wanted to address the REST and RELAX part from my blog on April 13, where I talk about Balance.

But doing so means I need to do some confessing…

I didn’t listen to my own writing… Since the post on balance and rest, I’ve finished a novel, edited another one, launched one, set up social media for the month of May and June. Worked 40+ hours a week on my non-writing job, spent some extra time with my mentee before school let out…

On and on, I could go with my to-do list.

… Then I Lost My Flash Drive

I had a different post planned for today and then I lost my flash drive… lost

But let’s start at the beginning…

I am a creature of habit and I like my routine for my personal life, anyway. I recognize that my job as a manager in the Custom Design Studio at Shaw Contract is ALL ABOUT CHANGE which is why I cling to my routine at home. I have had this week planned for months… Up on Sunday morning early to write, church, last afternoon of the craft fair and then holiday week to write, rest, and get some fun things done for my writing… and then I lost my flash drive…

All was looking good… I had all but three chapters left for book four being completed, my sister was moving in with my Mom and me on Monday, and even though the house was a DISASTER it was only temporary because we would clean some the week, I was on vacation to prep for Christmas decorating on Friday after Thanksgiving… and then I lost my flash drive… Continue reading “… Then I Lost My Flash Drive”
